The player plays the game.
They don’t want to win or lose.
They just want to keep playing the game.
Winning the game is just a bonus.
It’s the adrenaline rush of the game that makes it fun.
It’s the joy within it.
That’s why they keep playing it.
They never give up.
They keep playing and playing.
Because it’s addictive.
Losing brings motivation.
It makes them want to play harder to win the game.
Or still be in the game.
The game is the game.
They don’t want to quit.
They don’t want to back out.
They want to keep playing the game.
Because they don’t want it to actually end.
Because then that would be it, that would be the end.
That’s why the cat keeps playing with the mouse,
why the guy keeps playing with the girl’s emotions,
why the villain keeps going after the hero.
Because it’s the game.
And to them their buzzer isn’t until death.
