Walls

Sometimes the things that you love will be the things that will ruin you.

Why?

Maybe because we love it so much that we put all of our heart into it. So we become vulnerable.

We put down our guard to whatever or whoever we love.

Not realizing that it could hurt us at any second in any moment.

All it takes is a moment for everything to change.

All it takes is a moment to change your perception of something or someone.

We spend most of our lives building up walls.

Walls that will soon be torn down.

Because we’re vulnerable.

We know we’re going to be torn down soon.

No, we’re not invincible.

We’re not superheroes.

We’re not the police with guns.

We’re not the army.

We’re not…. Wait…

All those things that I just said…

They aren’t invincible.

They’re people, like us.

They are not invincible.

I don’t think anything on this earth is invincible.

You can put up your walls all you want, but guys, you’re not invincible.

Your walls will come down someday.

One day you can feel like a warrior, then the other day you can feel like something on the side of the road.

You have to remember that you’re human.

Things happen.

I believe that things happen for a reason. They happen to develop your story. If you’re aware of the person you’re becoming, the things that happen to you are always a part of your story.

You might be becoming a better person and you might not even know it.

So yes, you’re going to be vulnerable.

You’re going to lower your shield once in a while.

But that’s a good thing, because we’re not robots. We respond to emotions, to things, to people, to love.

It changes us.

It breaks us.

It keeps us whole.

It makes us who we are.

Don’t be afraid of the fact that one day your walls will be torn down.

Maybe, be glad that something or someone was able to tear them down?

They showed you that it was ok to feel emotions, to be human.
