the Moon

I was hoping to see you today.

But there was no sign of you anywhere.

I thought I would see you the next day,

but I didn’t.

I haven’t seen you in a while.

Where have you been for the past few days?

I miss you.

You made me feel safe.

You gave me a little bit of hope.

You would put a smile on my face.

I was sad.

Yeah, was.

I’m not anymore.

Because although I can’t see you, someone else can.

You’re probably making sure someone else is safe.

Because they need it.

You’re probably giving someone else hope.

Because they need it.

You’re probably giving someone else a smile.

Because they need it.

And how can I be sad knowing that.

Even though I don’t see you, someone else will.

Plus, I will always know you’re there.

I just can’t see you.

But you’re there.

This won’t be the last time I see you.

I know I’ll see you again.

I won’t give up hope.

I’ll keep looking out for you every night.

Goodnight Moon, see you later.

  1. This is absolutely beautiful.
The way you’ve penned down emotions through words is a brilliant piece of work.
    On a sidenote.
Next time try and notice this.
There is always this bright little star next to the moon. The only time we seem to be able to notice this star is when there is Amavasya(night when there is no moon in the sky). Maybe you could someday write about this. I am sure you’ll do a brilliant job at it.
Take care and have a great day. 🙂
